Product Description

Gas Off is a rectangular plastic panel, equipped with stove knob replicates on the front side and magnets on the rear side which would be fitted over the real burner control knobs on a gas cooking stove. The Gas Off is designed to ensure burner control knobs are retained in the off position when the stove is not being used to safeguard against the risk of the knobs being inadvertently on and toxic gas fumes which can cause injury or death being released.

Design Features

The Gas Off would be a safety device which is designed specifically for use in conjunction with gas cooking stoves. The Gas Off would be a rectangular, plastic panel with burner control knob replicates affixed to the front side and magnets affixed to the rear side. The overall dimensions of the Gas Off would be fifteen inches in width and three inches in height.

The front panel of this safety device features circular replicates of burner control knobs. A total of five burner knob replicates are aligned horizontally across the length of the Gas Off, evenly spaced apart at intervals that correspond with the spacing of the actual burner control knobs on a gas cooking stove. The knob replicates, progressing from left to right, correspond with the positioning of the left front and left rear burner control knobs, the oven control knob, and the right rear and right front burner control knobs.

The replicate knobs are fixed in place and extend outward for a short distance from the front panel of the Gas Off. Each knob affords a recessed space in the interior area that would fit over the actual stove knobs. The center of each knob replicate affords a vertically positioned slot to accommodate the raised, center part of the actual knobs, the part that is used to vary the amount of gas being supplied to a burner and to turn a burner on and off. The actual burner control knobs would be turned to the ‘off’ position before the Gas Off would be fitted in place to ensure the burner control knobs remained in the ‘off’ position, the raised part of each burner control knob extending through the slots on the replicate knobs. The magnets on the rear side would keep the safety device securely attached to the stove.
